On Empowerment

Once upon a time there was a duck with no legs and no quack.
He couldn’t run and he couldn’t make a sound.
How profound.
But the duck learned to quack another way.  The duck learned to go its own way –
to and fro –
as you go –
he could move if he moved to and fro.
And the bounce of that act would move him towards the water.
His limitation, an act of kindness, to teach him to swim.
His legs weren’t on, but he would swim.  Dream May 2009
